Our dear friend, Sadie, was an instrumental icon when the Schroon-North Hudson Historical Society needed to put a foundation under the oldest part of the Museum in 2008. She was the champion for the museum's cause.
Currently, the older section of the Historical Society's Museum is in need of a new roof. The original house was built in 1869 by Charles H. Knox. The second roof was completed in 1915/1916. It has given the Historical Society a good dry place for 100+ years. The Society has been busy gathering estimates and the work will be begin this Fall 2018. It is not currently a dangerous situation, however our concern is future leaking due the weakening of the current roofing materials.
As a non-for-profit organization, the Historical Society is asking for donations to assist in the cost of a new roof. The Board and Sadie would like to Thank You in advance for your support. NO DONATION IS TOO SMALL OR TO BIG!
